“April hath put a spirit of youth in everything.”  ~William Shakespeare

Today is Sunday, and the days are getting longer. Flowers are starting to bloom on the trees and their petals float in the fresh breezes. The sun is beginning to shine more frequently and the rain likes to wash away old things.  So I can’t help but dream of new things and wonder what the new season will bring. Life is ever moving.

Happy first day of April.  Here’s a song for you to enjoy on this fine Sunday.

“The sun was warm but the wind was chill.
You know how it is with an April day.”
~Robert Frost

All Day Light

Beauty is an amazing thing. And there’s so much of it to be had! Look at the sparkling stars over head! Look at the moon and the clouds as they pass by. Look at the bright green blades of grass with dew in the morning. Look at the mist crossing the land like magic to wake things up. Enjoy the sun. Enjoy the wind playing across your face as you go for a walk. Enjoy that the days are getting longer and that Spring is finally here. Taste the goodness of the Lord in all that you do and see. He’s so good. And He’s with you, if you want Him to be.

Monday Links to Love

Just a little encouragement and fun links for this last Monday of March.

Have a great day and a lovely evening! <3

“The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore I will hope in Him. The Lord is good unto them that wait for Him, to the soul that seeketh Him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.” – Lamentations 3:24-26

I love butterflies. I always have. Except in kindergarten though. I thought I loved them, because of their beautiful wings…but then I looked close at one’s face! And oh! – it was ugly. I realized that they were just another bug! I was so disappointed. But you know, somehow even with their ugly faces, butterflies are still beautiful. And somehow, I couldn’t write off their strange beauty just because they are classified as bugs. Their wings make up for their ugly little antennas and little feely legs! – I thought about this today as I laid in bed and stared up at the sparkly butterflies I have hanging over my head. It made me laugh inside at the little kindergarten me wanting the butterflies in Ms. Brown’s classroom not to touch me and here the 19-year-old me has them hanging above my bed. Butterflies are kind of like little reminders that beauty isn’t perfection. Beauty isn’t only the mountain peaks filled with snow and sunsets but in little ugly faced bugs that God decided to give beautiful wings to fly with :) And in a way, we’re kind of those little ugly faced things classified as bugs that because of Jesus Christ God chose to give beautiful wings to fly with.

“But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” – Isaiah 40:31

Thank the Lord for that!

The Weekend

Oh sunny lovely weekends. I love those. <3

top photo by Lindsay / Oregon
bottom photo by Josh /Maui

These were taken on the same day.
It’s like puzzle pieces that when put together make up a whole picture.
Even though these were taken 3,000 miles apart in a way they were taken together.
Sunny cold Oregon/ Bright and warm Maui
Pine Trees and Mountains/ Palm trees and sandy beaches…
~
The world can seem so big and so small all at once. Maybe spending this time apart has made the world both bigger and smaller?

Happy Monday.

Your Name

“Mountain peaks and skies of blue

Can’t compare to the thought of you.

For every time I say your Name

I am new again” – LG

Nothing’s more adventurous than walking with the Lord.

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

2 Corinthians 4:16-18

So go on and have an adventure *** today. *
